Spring is here! And with that comes the inevitable flow of new, gorgeous items flooding into stores in the hot Spring colors. For Spring 2016, that means incorporating pasted pantone colours into your wardrobe. Since Spring also leads to more invitations to events like weddings and baby showers, we thought we’d focus on some gorgeous looks for a more formal affair that would pair nicely with one of my favourite Spring traditions – the pastel pink of a cherry blossom tree contrasted with blue skies.
The Blue Sky: A Pastel Blue Dress
The first thing we’d start with is a show-stopping dress, like this gathered pleated dress from Maison Margiela. The light blue color is simply breathtaking, no? I also love the gathered lines and pleats with the band collar and asymmetric hemline.
The Pink Flowers : The Shoes
I love pale pink, always have, always will. I especially love that it’s hot this season so that I can justify buying anything and everything in it’s captivating hue. I’d pick a pair of pink shoes to complement the blue dress – not the traditional look, for sure, but one that goes with the cherry blossom motif, like these Bionda Castana “Iana” pumps.
The Green Leaves : The Jewelery
Pairing green, blue and pink in one outfit is likely a lot – I know it is for me – but when the green is a calm, soothing and neutral green like these Wouters & Hendrix gems, you can get away with it. There is almost a blue like tint to the earrings so they go really well.
Putting it all Together: The Whole Outfit
We’d love to hear your thoughts on pastels and Spring outfits. How are pastels working their way into your wardrobes?
