Cozy fires, bubble baths, wonderful meals and walks through the woods – that is what we do at the cabin. Situated on Brandon’s family’s farm (where the chickens live) is an authentic 19th century log cabin, where we like to run away on weekends or spare afternoons.
There are two wood burning fireplaces – one in the sitting room and the other in the master bedroom – which creates the most wonderful atmosphere and aroma. We try to light at least one fire when we visit, even when its really too warm for one…
In the bathroom (which is quite modern, thank goodness), you’ll find the most wonderful bath in the world. Claw-footed, deep, and long, you can sit back an look out the window, where you might see a doe and fawn in the field or the horses grazing nearby.
We’ve been very lucky to host some of our best friends for weekend getaways here. It is one of my favorite places. So, if you ever see me magically transported to a cabin-y wonderland, you can bet I’m at the cabin with a cup of tea in hand, sitting by the fire.
