I fell in love with LK Bennett a few years ago while travelling in London. I popped in to the shop because I recognized the name as being a brand worn by the Duchess of Cambridge (aka the former Kate Middleton) and figured if they were good enough for her, they’d be good enough for me. Two years, three pairs and a purse, clutch and sweater collection later it is safe to say that I’ve fallen in love with the brand all on my own.
Their new fall collection though? I could purchase the entire thing. Since buying an entire collection would be completely frivolous and not realistic, I figured I would share my top 5 items.
Drool-Worthy Item #1 : The Juana Wrap Dress
I love the bold pattern coupled with a very classic silhouette. Here is how the brand describes it: “… Juana is a statement piece. It is beautifully styled with a full-length skirt and distinctive 50s inspired crossover style top, but it is the striking marble print combining tones of black, white, blue and coral which really makes it stand out.” It’s a slightly pricier addition to you closet at $675 US but will be a standby piece you can wear for several years to cocktail parties.
Swoon-able Item #2 : The Claren Shawl
Sure, I have a thing for capes/ponchos/wraps. Sure, I already own three. But this gorgeous cashmere blend is such a perfect addition to my already monochrome closet that I can’t help but include it. I love the two-tone grey and the face that this will never go out of style. At $325 US, when you factor in that you can literally wear this for the rest of your life, it’s a bargain!
I-Have-To-Have-It Item #3: Brunele Printed Skirt
While this skirt does not flatter my body type (I will look even shorter than I actually am), I am still including it on this list because I love the idea of the skirt and it would look so cute on so many other people. The abstract print has a bit of a sheen/shimmer to it, which takes it from the ho-hum to the amazing. It’s also a tad pricy at $425 US for a pretty unique and of-the-moment skirt, but if you wear skirts on a regular basis and can justify the expense, I’ll be coveting your look.
Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop Item #4 : The Mabel Suede and Python Sandal
I love how the description of the shoe says exactly what I was thinking. “Mabel is the party shoe you’ll wonder how you lived without.” I can see this show escorting me to parties for seasons to come, and the grey color means it is extremely versatile. If you want something a little more traditional, the shoe also comes in black. The shoes are $425, so they’re an investment shoe but will be well worth it.
GET-IN-MY-CLOSET-NOW Item #5 : The Silven Collar Coat
I can picture this with skinny jeans and a turtleneck, riding boots and a chunky silver bracelet… This shearling lining and sheepskin vest is exactly what I think of when I think of winter chic. It’s warm, stylish and will be for years to come. At $1,200 US it’s a pricy addition to a closet but one that I’m sure you’ll find worth it when you spread out the cost over the lifetime of wears.
