Pretty soon, the daffodils will be blooming, the sun will be shining, and we will all dust off our favorite wedges and ballet flats. Our boots will be tucked in the corner of our closet, and the door will shut on our coats for another year. Spring will be here. Eventually.
Until those daffodils burst from the earth like the shining beacon that they are, I can look forward to these five amazing things about Spring:
Wedges are my favorite shoes. They are so in style at the moment, thanks to a Duchess friend of mine, and they are so stylish. For me, they are about as comfortable as flats, but they amp up any outfit ten times. I always feel very put together, even in a simple jeans-and-t-shirt ensemble, with a pair of wedges. Since espadrille and cork are strictly warm weather materials, most of my wedges are reserved for warmer months. So excited to break out these babies from Marks and Spencer!
Hopefully, eventually, my Sweet William seeds will sprout and turn into beautiful pink bundles of happiness. Flowers pop up everywhere come springtime, even on the medians of the highway. Little daffodils remind us that the snow is long gone. Bouquets of sunflowers remind us that the sun is here to stay. What could be happier?
If you don’t already know it, I love sheep. I can’t explain why – they seem so sweet and gentle and happy. Little lambs are born just in time for Easter, all soft and fluffy and cute. Everywhere I look – Target, Barnes and Noble, church, and even Starbucks – there are stuffed sheep, chocolate sheep, illustrated sheep. I can’t help but be uplifted by their little cotton faces!
While I have my own signature scent (English Pear and Freesia and Amber and Patchouli by Jo Malone), I do switch to something new and fresh for the first few weeks of Spring and for most of the summer. I usually return to my old standby, but changing things up with a fresh floral, or an herbal treat, reminds me that warmer, happier days are ahead. This year, I really love Jo Malone’s White Jasmine and Mint and Bond No. 9 Central Park South (naturally).
Even though they’re technically from the fall, the latest spring fashions make me so happy. I’m looking forward to a few months of super trendy pastels, like blush, lavender, mint, and aqua. Nothing says springtime like pastel, but this time they’re super fashionable. I love this dress and this bag. Must have for the warmer months!
