Quick extremely off topic post today (Although, if you’re a fan of Winter sports, you are in luck…) Today marks the kick off of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. You’ll be able to watch a whole host of events from figure skating to skeet shooting today all the way to February 23rd. If you’re not a fan, well, you’re out of luck and better have some TV to catch up on as almost all TV networks have hit pause on doling out episodes of new shows until the conclusion of the Olympics.
4 years ago, the 2010 Winter Olympics came to my city, Vancouver. I was lucky enough to attend quite a few events and have never seen my city or country so proud of the achievements of our winter Olympians. It’s quite an experience, if you ever have the opportunity to attend the Games, I highly recommend it. What I wanted to share with you today is that no matter your stance on sports, it’s always refined to support one’s country. That is why I went and sat in the cold mountains of Whistler 4 years ago to cheer on snowboarders I couldn’t tell you the names of (even if you promised to give me a Celine mini-luggage bag)
With that said, go (insert your team name here)!
