Ah, the week before Thanksgiving. For me, it is the most stressful week of the year. Making recipes or reservations, deciding on outfits and invitations, finalizing plans… So, this week is all about Thanksgiving preparations.
Next week, President Obama will pardon the turkey. If you aren’t American, this might be a foreign tradition – each year, the President pardons a turkey, allowing him to keep his little feathers alive for a while longer. The turkey is then taken to Disneyland to star in their Thanksgiving Day parade. Check out the video from last year:
In need of recipes? We’ve got you covered. If you’re still stuck on sides, servings, decor, or w.t.f. a turkey brine is, check out domestic diva Martha Stewart’s online guide to all things Thanksgiving. She has some fabulous recipes, decor ideas, and suggestions for a Thanksgiving feast with a touch of glamour.
Unsure of what to wear? I spent the past week buying and returning about six different dresses, plus a barrage of accessories. I decided the only thing to do was to stick to a classic – the wrap dress. The wrap dress works in any situation, from casual to dressy affair. If you aren’t sure if your family will wear jeans or a cocktail dress (like I am), then a classic wrap dress is the only answr. Trust me on this one.
Pair it with leafy accessories, like earrings, a statement necklace, or a tasteful brooch to make the outfit feel season. A little touch of autumn shows that you’ve really thought this through. You will look glamorous and very Thanksgiving-esque.
Next week is all about last-minute fixes, but this week was all about last-minute stress. Focus for the next few days and Thanksgiving will be easy and stress-free (hahaha…yeah, right)
