OK, OK, so peplum has been a trend for quite some time. And it may not be a trend for all that long to come. I get it. But I’ve discovered that if you can find the right fit, they’re actually very flattering and worthy of a second look. While browsing around for dresses for the upcoming holiday season, I came across a pretty flattering combination: the peplum dress with lace fabric.
Take a look at these beauties:
The top one is BCBG MaxAzria Ives Dress ($298 at Bloomingdale’s), then the Ali Ro Lace Peplum Dress ($238 at Bloomingdale’s) and the black one is the Havren Lace Dress ($373 at John Lewis)
So maybe you don’t want to spend $200+ dollars on a lace peplum dress. Well, good news, they are abundant at all price points, such as this one in a gorgeous cobalt blue… at $39.50. That’s right, I said $39.50. Dress is Casual Couture by Green Envelope, available at Bluefly.
I then spiraled down a long path of shopping disaster when I came across this beauty. I have no problem in paying for clothes, but spending the £1,340.00 on this Nina Ricci Ruched Lace Dress that I would likely only wear for a couple of Christmas events seems like a little much… But it’s so gorgeous…. I can’t buy it…. Right?
