Seeing as I adore fall, I anxiously get out my fall decorations every year around this time even though it’s more often than not still warm enough out to be called summer and fall doesn’t technically start for a few more days (September 22). I wait until September 1st at the very earliest and then start my decorating for fall.
I do love decorating for fall, but I do it in small ways so that my house is not completely overrun with leaves, pinecones and candy dishes. I’ve shared some of the small ways I take up fall decorating, above:
- I got a pack of very tiny mini-gourds in the colors that still work with the green plants on my mantle from summer that are still thriving. This way I’m still nodding to the fact that it’s still technically Summer outside but that it’s September, the traditional fall start
- I love the colors of fall, so I have a small basket with colored leaves sit near my front entrance. (I know the colors in the picture look weird, but I promise it works in the larger context of my entryway!)
- I add some fall candy dishes to my living room tables and will fill them with fall candies (like candy corn or chocolates) as we approach. Bonus points if you noticed my fall colored owl candle that I had to have while at Target the other day
Do you decorate for Fall? I’m maybe just crazy.
